James Wasilewski, with 20 years of experience in improvisational comedy, has facilitated workshops and sessions through HaHa to Aha where laughter leads to discovery. Through these sessions, James applies improvisational concepts and exercises to a variety of topics including idea generation, teamwork, communications and other soft skills. He also leads fundraising sessions with individual nonprofits and conferences as well as with Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Richmond’s Institute on Philanthropy.
He currently serves as the Director of Development at VCU’s L. Douglas Wilder School of Government and Public Affairs. He is also a community advocate and volunteer – currently serving on the Virginia Association of Fund Raising Executive Board (VAFRE), the Children’s Museum of Richmond Associate Board and the Yes, Ballon (ComedySportz RVA) board. He has been recognized Style Weekly’s - Top 40 Under 40 (2015).
He also enjoys being a husband and a father of two little boys (Embry and Turner). They keep him on his toes, remaining active with ComedySportz allows him to keep up!
James earned his BS in Accounting with a minor in Speech Communications from Randolph-Macon College and his MBA from the University of Central Florida.
